I bought this for my niece. I skimmed through it and it looked adorable, but one prompt caught my eye, it said something to the effect of: "Write down a bad word you would never say, then erase it!" Silly, especially considering the age range of these books, I just gave her mom a heads up on that part. I guess it is good to have a safe space to express some of those thoughts, but just be aware that there is at least one question like that.
I bought this for my daughter, who is currently plowing through as many Ivy & Bean books as she can get her hands on. This is a wonderful little fill-in-the-blank book that is very much in the spirit of Ivy & Bean. Some of the prompts are serious but some are silly and mischievous, which is just plain fun and has my daughter writing. Thank you for making this, Ms. Barrows!
I bought this for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas. She LOVES it. It took her 5 days to sit down with it, but now that she has, she has worked on it, independently, for over 2 hours, non-stop. I guess the down side, for some might be that she's nearly finished with it in those two hours. But really, what is that, $4.50 or so per hour of non-media entertainment, of her thinking and writing and drawing, completely worth it, every penny! Anything that can keep my wiggly, energetic girl engaged for that long, is 5 stars in my book.
I am so happy that they came up with this idea. It's so cute. The girls get a chance to fill in the blanks with that they want to put in there. They can be creative with it as well. I got this for my 9 year old daughter and glad that she fills some of her time with this book. Can't wait for more releases from this author.
My daughter was so excited getting this. It's now 4 months later and she's still excited to fill out parts, draw pictures, etc. It's filled with references to the books and cute silly things I'm sure my daughter will look back on and smile years later. So glad I got this for her.
My 7 year old daughter has read the whole Ivy and Bean series so we got her this book and she absolutely loved it. Kept her busy for hours and this will be something I'm sure she will enjoy looking back at when she's older.
My granddaughter loves the adventures of Ivy and Bean. She is 5 and can't read but enjoys having them read to her.
My 8 year old granddaughter loved this journal. She carried it around with a pen on Christmas Day. She loves Ivey and Bean.
