This is a lovely book with great illustrations and cute writing. It is simple enough for my son to understand and the mole's actions are easy to pantomime while reading before putting my son to bed.
Adorable little story book. I'm using this with my music classes - Mole is so excited to get ready for spring, it's an easy story to adapt the folk song "here we go 'round the mulberry bush" to as Mole runs around doing chores.
I read this to my preschool class (of all Japanese students), and they LOVED it! A student who does not speak English well, requests this book everyday.

charming, great illustrations
My children (5 & 3 yrs.) love it! The text is simple and the pictures are colorful. It provides opportunity for prediction (what is Mole making?) and repetition. They laugh each time we read it, and we've read it a great number of times!
Fun story for little ones. I liked the surprise aspect of the story.
