Kids loved the origami
first one-two-three folds were fine, then it got incomprehensible .. w/out any text to guide you, the next set of instructions for folds didn't make much sense and it became impossible to go forward, even on the simpler pieces. A disapppointment.
Maybe it's just me but the directions weren't always clear. I went to the Internet to find instructions on the missing steps for the figures listed. Found lots of better origami instructions on-line. Gave the book to Goodwill.
Fun gift- There are about 40 different patterns- fun if you stick a few dollar bills in there for the recipient to practice with. My nephew (8 years old) loved this gift, as did his older siblings- 13 and 16 years old. It was just supposed to be a secondary "add on" gift, if you will, and it ended up being the favorite!

This was not the immediate hit I thought it would be. I gave it to an 8 y.o. with 10 crisp $1 bills. He played with the book and bills for all of 10 minutes then stashed the cash.I still stand by the idea of it being a good kid gift where adding a little cash makes it an easy gift that won't leave them disappointed.
I found the directions not "easy" even though it stated easy. My son is very good at origami and said the same thing. We have adapted a few of the ideas to work. The book has nice illustrations, sturdy paperback binding. Would I buy it again? Probably not. Would I recommend to a friend? Probably not.
This is a fun gift to give to a child or even an adult that enjoys origami. I gave it to my grandson with 20, $1.00 very crisp bills I requested at the bank,to use to create what’s inside. He loved it. It made for a very unique fun gift
